Zoe XL1 Stroller Review: Best Lightweight Stroller Under $200

For extra durability and features galore, the Zoe XL 1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Stroller is a great choice for parents who like to get out and enjoy the outdoors, or travel with their infants and toddlers. Some umbrella strollers are weak in certain areas. For instance, one may be great for quick trips to the store, or to walk around the block for some fresh air, but not be strong enough or comfortable enough to handle longer outings. You also need to be concerned with safety features on some of the lighter strollers.

A true umbrella stroller folds inward into a pole-like profile. They typically are very bare bones, because the ultimate goal is to be as light as possible. However, those types of strollers are also usually a lot less durable, and not very comfortable for long trips. They don’t have a lot of extras to make both child and parent comfortable either. That simply isn’t their mission, and they have a place in the market, but when you need something with more bang for the buck, you should consider the hybrid types of umbrella strollers, like the Zoe XL DeluxXtra Lightweight Stroller.

It is a hybrid basically because it does not fold into a pole, but rather flattens down into a slim profile. It is still extremely light, but has lots of extras that will make spending time out of the house with your baby more fun such as, cup holders, pockets, large basket, and an extremely large sun hood to protect your child in any position. This stroller is packed with all of that and more, and still weighs in at a slight 10 pounds making it easy to handle, pack away, store or travel with.

You won’t have to worry about where to put that diaper bag or other carry-alongs either. There’s a very large, easy to access under seat mesh basket to put all you need while away from home.

The padding is remarkable on the seat and harness of this stroller, and the hood is simply huge. If you have twins, or two small children, the Zoe XL1 is also available as a two-seater with a double canopy.

Is the Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Stroller with Canopy Right for You?

The Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Umbrella stroller is really best for people who spend a lot of time away from home with their baby. It does well on short outings, but all of the features really aren’t necessary to take a quick trip or a walk around the block. That doesn’t mean you can’t use it for that, and if the option was to buy an additional stroller for that function, there’s no need for that, it will do the job well. It is really an exceptional travel stroller for people who want to be able to get on various transportation vehicles, store it quickly in a car trunk, or take long walks. It is also great when taking the family to museums, parks or other places where there is a lot of walking, you’ll spend a lot of time, and need a place for your child to be comfortable and protected from too much sun.

Thoughts on the Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Travel & Everyday Umbrella Stroller

I simply love this stroller. It is handsome, and so well equipped it is a joy to use and makes spending time with my child much more enjoyable as well. It is a bit bulky even in its most compact folded position, so it needs a little more room than a true umbrella stroller, but that is such a small issue compared to what it comes with. It travels well and fits into airplane compartments without a problem, and it’s extremely well made and durable.

I also love the harness on the Zoe XL1. It’s a 5-point harness so it is secure and my toddler can’t get it off, but it’s simple for me to use. It doesn’t require completely undoing the entire harness, and there is a Velcro cover to keep prying little fingers out.

If I had to pick on an issue I didn’t like about the Zoe Deluxe, it would be the maneuverability. While the double front wheel assembly makes it stronger, and I think a little smoother going straight, it doesn’t turn as easily as some other lightweight strollers. It’s not a cheapie either. You will pay more for all the extra durability, features and comfort, but it will last longer as well. I bought the pink and it is pretty, but not exactly pink. It’s more of a light purple, or mauve color.

Pros and Cons of the Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Stroller

One of the nicest things about the Zoe XL1 along with its excellent stroller features is how easy the basket is to get to even then the seat is fully reclined. It is just low enough that there is plenty of space to reach in and get what you need without disturbing the baby, and just high enough to not interfere with road travel. The dual front wheels are a nice touch that most lightweight strollers do not have. They make the ride smoother, and give the assembly more durability.

You can’t put enough emphasis on the wide degree of recline positions available either. It is something most parents who are experienced with long trips know about, and want. It provides as many options as possible for the child to be comfortable and stay happy.

The biggest downside to the Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Umbrella Stroller is that the fabric is fixed, so it can’t be removed to wash. It is washable with a wet or soapy cloth, but it would be nice to be able to take it off and wash it in a sink or the washing machine.

Conclusion

The Zoe XL1 DELUXE Xtra Lightweight Travel & Everyday Umbrella Stroller is on the high end of the mid-priced strollers, but it is worth every penny. The satisfaction of knowing it is covered by a strong warranty makes it as attractive as the brilliant colors and its overall good looks.
